Regular servicing of Evaporative Coolers is recommended as efficiency and performance can be lost if deposits of windblown dirt & pollen are allowed to clog up the system. It also ensures a healthier environment for your home as the servicing process prevents the accumulation of slimes & moulds.
The main servicing requirement of this type of air conditioner is to clean the filters regularly (about every month whilst they are in use.) The good news is most people can do this themselves as it requires no technical knowledge. In the case of Wall Hung split systems, you just need to know how to access the filters on the indoor unit of your particular unit which will be explained in the owner’s manual you received when you purchased your system. If you have mislaid this manual helpful “You Tubes” demonstrating how to clean the filters are available on the internet for most brands. We do offer this service, however, for customers who are unable or do not want to clean their own filters.
Regular servicing of heater equipment ensures a longer life, more energy efficiency and gives us a chance to assess that your system is safe to use. Recent reports suggest that older systems need to be checked for harmful carbon monoxide emissions.
Maintenance Service is designed to keep the unit in good operating condition and, as long as there are no issues, our office staff can quote you a fixed price to have this carried out. For units that present with problems, our repair pricing structure comes in to play which consists of a call out fee and timed charges for labour. Below are some trouble shooting exercises you can try first but, if they fail to fix the problem, please call our friendly office staff and they will explain our charges and organise a repair technician to visit your property and find a solution to your problem.
Before you call us, try these troubleshooting exercises. It may save you some unnecessary expense.
All Systems – the golden trouble shooting rule
“Have you tried turning it on and off again?” All systems have computer boards and, just like your pc or laptop, can be reset by following the directions in your owners and/or thermostat manual or by turning off the power to the isolation switch into which your appliance is plugged and then turning it back on again. If the system continually needs to be reset, however, then your system has a problem that will need to be addressed by a qualified repair technician.
Evaporative Cooling
Make sure the controller is in manual mode and not auto mode.
Split Systems
Ensure the filters are clean. If they are blocked, the system will be starved of air and will switch itself off in order to avoid overheating. You might get it going again but it will continue to switch itself off each time until the filters are clean. Ideally, we recommend that you clean the filters every 2 weeks if the systems are in constant use.
In the case of the Wall Hung Split System ensure the batteries in the remote do not require replacing.
Check in your main power board that the circuit breaker has not tripped. This can happen as a one off if there is a power surge. If it continues to happen when the air conditioner is on, however, you will need to call a service technician

If you have a Networker controller, you can reset the unit by pressing function then button 1. An error code will come up, then you press button 4. The unit will reset. See our Download page to see a video on how to reset the networker.
You can also try resetting the unit by switching the power point off that is located next to your heating system (if it is easily accessible to you).
